Ha, like which ones? I guess you are referring to just Death metal, but I don't really remember saying stuff about other bands.

I have gotten into some more Death metal recently. Years ago I used to like Dying Fetus, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy, Obituary and some other bands that I cannot really think of right now. Mortician, I think.

Now, I listen to Bloodbath and Six Feet Of Foreplay mainly. The recent bands I got into are Fleshcrawl and Dismember. Death metal just hasn't attracted me very much. Bands like Dying Fetus and Cryptopsy don't even try to enunciate at all and that is very annoying.

I find gore-related lyrics in any genre of music generally boring. Very few bands have been able to narrate/talk about gory subjects and actually make it sound convincing and sadistic enough that I got a cool vibe from them. I enjoy lyrics like Cry My Name or Like Fire fine, but as soon as it starts trying to sound disgusting without purpose I get bored and sometimes annoyed. Too many bands obsess with gore and it doesn't give me any sort of chill, it just sounds cartoonish and often stupid. Bloodbath doesn't take it too far luckily but I don't read along to lyrics from songs like "buried by the dead", I find it takes away from the music by sounding childish.

I'm probably a huge minority here. haha.

Well, you gotta realize that Bloodbath's lyrics are all about exaggerating, it's consciously ridiculously overdone, it's meant to be so brutal it becomes funny, which it is!

One title I've always totally loved and it's not even Bloodbath's, but Gorerotted's, is "Stab me Till I Cum", that's really one of the sickest most brutal songtitles ever. Hell fucking yeah.

yeah same here.
for me, that line isn't necessarily about the lyrics, but how perfectly mikael incorporates them into the flow.
i'm pretty sure those lyrics wouldn't be half as good to me, if i didn't have that sweet articulation to associate it with.
