Rhapsody's Heroes of the Lost Valley- its the corniest voice over track I have ever heard, and the corniest metal track ever- well with the few power metal cds i have- for corniest chorus- any power metal band will do

At least they intentionally promote themselves as a joke. They never intended to be taken seriously. They're just death metal satire.

That band makes some brutally funny song titles. They're just about offending people to an extreme. But they're not death metal cause they're grindcore. Grindcore has its share of joke bands like porno-grind for example but it's originator (Napalm Death) do make awesome music that needs to be taken seriously.

The ones who are really funny are the bands who actually expect people to buy into this evil, twisted facade they maintain (i.e. cannibal corpse, deicide, etc.) They get a vocalist who sounds like an 80 year old emphysema patient who lost his electronic voice box, get him to sing half-wit lyrics about torture and murder, and think it sounds bad-ass evil! OOOOOOH, SCAAAARY!!!

You might hate death metal and yes some of it is just for shock value but some of it actually has depth. Death metal's my favourite metal genre. I'm into Cannibal Corpse but they say the gore and everything they have are just for entertainment and people shouldn't take it too seriously and go out and actually smash people's faces with hammers. Deicide... they're just a joke of a death metal band trying to scare people because they're soooo Satanic.

I don't hate death metal, it's just the lyrics I often find ridiculous. There are plenty of death metal bands out there, like cannibal corpse, who have the musical talent to produce quality shit. I just wish bands like CC and all these 'satanic' bands would quit with the evil/gore thing already! It's been done over and over and over. I like a bit of variety, not just musically, but lyrically as well.
Napalm Death is a great death metal band, although alot of people call it grindcore now, but I remember ND back before that bullshit phrase was ever coined, and they were DEATH metal (guess I'm showing my age a bit now! ). They've got some great thought-provoking lyrics.
