Correct way to use the PAZ Analyzer

I have been fooling around with the PAZ and want to see if I am using it correctly so maybe some of you guys can help shed some light on it for me. Let's say I take a guitar part from a song and run it through the analyzer and save it. Do I then go back with my own guitar track and use the zoom on the PAZ to find the frequencies that I need to try and match up? Seems like I am getting close and it is sounding pretty good when I try it that way. Am I doing this right or is there an easier way?

That's pretty much how I used it in the past. just a way to compare one audio source to another. I mostly use it now to take a quick look to see what I need to EQ better.

I still need to learn alot more about frequencies to be able to use for what most of you probably use it for. I look at the thing and have no idea what I'm looking at other than zooming to see which frequencies are spiked.
