actually the plague is not as uncommon as people think. it happens in the west, particularly new mexico, pretty often (at least "often" compared to the fact that we all think it doesn't exist).

i know someone who had it! it is totally easily treatable.

this is what the doctor said when ethan and i ate food contaminated with botulism. i mean, sure, maybe it's more common than people think but it's not like i want it anyway.
