Cradle of Filth vs Iced Earth

We are all forgeting the real point here, CoF is a really shitty band, and although IE is one of my favs, I really prefer Maiden's version.

I prefer Maiden's as well, and I agree CoF aren't that good, and IE are one of my fav bands, but that wasn't the answer to the original question.

Definetly Iced Earth's version smokes Cradle Of Filth's version, IE's version is true to the original, soulful and emotion filled vocals as opposed to Dani's smurf with nuts in a grinder style vocals.

I don't like CoF, but their version was much better than IE's. I fell asleep during that one. Seriously. Barlow isn't, and never will be, Dickinson. Dani Filth wasn't rying to be. He put his own, lawn-gnome-wit-attitude, spin on it. IE's version is horribly boring. You can picture them in the studio lazy playing it, whereas CoF sound like they're about to be hung and are being led on a march to the scaffold through the woods on a dark night.

Maiden's version rules all, however.

I prefer Iced Earth over Cradle of Filth. I like both bands, but if I had to choose only one to listen to for the rest of my life, I'd choose Iced Earth.

Although i like more Iced Earth then COF (it's an excellent band but dani vocals....... oh well ) , but the "Hallowed be thy name " covered by Cradle of Filth than IE because , COF added more personality than IE's version.

CoF's was a lot better. IE's covers (that whole tribute album) are just boring. Give me IE originals ANY day.
