Cubase upgrade... Confused :( halp?

Sorry for the noob question... But I bought CUBASE 7.5 a little while back finally...
Then I got a MacBook to do work on while on tour/ away from home etc and Yosemite doesn't support 7.5. And I can't even install it, it seems! So, if I purchase cubase 8... Would I be simply buying the upgrade version???
This is the first time I've bought an upgrade install of full install so I'm not sure what I'm meant to do if I can't actually get 7.5 working on the MacBook first :/

Yep buying the upgrade. The license works on all previous versions of cubase though so it doesn't break 7.5 if you want to use that on a different machine.

I think mac or PC it atari or Game Boy Color is irrelevant, you have a 7.5 license so you can upgrade to 8 !

ÉDIT : or wait, does cubase usually need you to install a previous version ? Cant you just download the latest build ?

You might be eligible for grace period update to cubase 8,
I bought 7.5 update without even realising it,until I checked on the steinberg website.
