sorry to sound naive, and this info might not help at all but we are using a carvin condenser mic (i do believe that is what they are called, i am very new to recording, and we are putting out a diy ep to try and earn some actual money for recording) the mic is so sensitive, that i imagine actually cupping it and doing vocal parts will come out sounding very sloppy and poor. does anyone happen to have any suggestions for a possible way around this? or suggestions as so what mic would be good for this use. we are still trying to attain the best sound possible but still being able to get that cupped mic sound. any advice or assistance is much appreciated.

personally I really diskile that sound, but there's no rules, try it see what it sounds like?. Probably better off with just an SM 58 though
