D.A The Art of Dying liked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I second that Val , I finally now just heard it all and it's an old-school record. Fans get mad at bands for changing their style, but this is NOT the case at all with Death Angel. This cd sounds fresh, yet it sounds exactly like Death Angel and nothing less. They really have kept their sound , and IMO sound like they never broke up! It's a solid release.

Thanks for all the feedback on the Art of Dying (good & bad). Some people like it & some don't. Thanks for giving it a listen.

We had a blast writing & recording this album. The production is great & the vibe is cool.

Here are some facts for people

Andy sings "Spirit"
Den sings "Land of Blood"
Rob sings "Word to the Wise"

And we're coming to Portland, OR in May.

Wow! It's great to see you posting here, Ted. Your new album is great. Great idea to have almost all members sing (why aren't you doing that too?)- they do it amazingly well...especially Andy!
Hopefully you will come not only to Portland, but also to Poland one day...

I got the digipack last night, and now, trying to cram in the listening before tonight's show.

This CD is cool -- yeah, not thrash, but then DA never was all that anyway (except Ultra-Vio), this is more like their later releases, and because I never was a huge fan of ACTIII, this one so far is better for me...

Thanks Ted! I will be there!! I can't wait to see you guys live, every live clip I've ever heard is simply put...amazing! Tight as hell!!

I do not know why my post has disappeared... It must have been when the board was down recently. Maybe my post was taken away cuz I wrote that 4 songs of 11 is not enough for me to find new DA as a great comeback LP...

So, after I haven’t been here for so long, I decided to post something here…
Since Death Angel is the subject, I have to say: their album was my main cd in the past 4 weeks that I have it. I played it so many times.

At first : to be honest: I didn’t like it that much. I guess when you expect too much from something- you will end up disappointed no matter what.
I couldn’t understand those alternative influences that I heard over there, and hey, im all into evolution in music, but that was just weird.

I almost gave up on that album, but people told me I should give it another chance and that in time: it grows on you.
Well, I have to say.. they were right… it does grow on you.
I kinda like it now. It’s a good album.
But I also have to say: its still not on my top-5 if you know what I mean……

I don’t understand why some people here are “too touchy” when it comes to new releases by some bands. (and memories from the Exodus thread come up to mind now)
If its not good: its not good, very simple.

No matter how much I love a certain band, and how much I appreciate them musically, when they release a new album: its like opening a new page.
If it sucks- it sucks.
And if my favorite band releases a bad album, Im not going to sit there and defend it…. Just because its “them”

Im not saying the new DA sucks, hell no, that’s too harsh to describe a fine album like that, I enjoy listening to it, but its also one of those albums that you wont hear me say: “IT RULES” about…

If you know what I mean….
