Hey there.
I've been a huge fan of Neurosis for a long time, and that has led me towards bands who came from similar influences (I know Neurosis strayed away from the hardcore punk stuff around the time of Souls at Zero, but they continue to make great music): Logical Nonsense are, in my opinion, one of the greatest bands that fit into this category, and one of my favourite bands, period, despite their short run.
Other, more recent, bands that I have been loving that I feel fall into this conversation:
Downfall of Gaia
Geld
Nux Vomica
Cult of Luna (more so their first couple of albums, but from a slower, sludgy perspective)
Wolven
Alaric (perhaps more post PUNK, with influences from the likes of Killing Joke and Joy Division, as well as Neurosis)
