Almost like a real band!.. Why do you have to edit the drums? Did the drummer suck?..all in jest... but seriously.

+1 to that. It's exactly what I meant mentioning the groove template. Don't shift the drumtracks on the grid, but shift the grid on the drums. That way it's quite easy to edit a weak guitartrack (according to Sawdust, they ain't in time with the natural drums).
