I get that your no fan of BushThrax but you ever check out any Saint? Or is it just John Bush' voice you dont like? Just curious. For me John in Anthrax is Killer but John in Saint is AfuckinMazing!

As much as I love Jon Bush, and as much as it will hurt to hear "Only," "Room For One More," etc (SOWN being my all-time favorite album) sung by someone else, I'm way excited to for the Dan Nelson-era. The YouTube clips of "Vampyres" and "Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't" are fucking amazing! Way better than I imagined they would be. But really, I'd rather it be he than Joey singing Bush-era songs.
Oh! And I recently re-discovered "Symbol of Salvation" by Armored Saint. What a great contemporary metal album! I bought that cd, along with "Speak English Or Die" on the same shopping trip-summer going into 9th grade. 1997. Fuck.

I really don't know any armored saint. I have nothing against John I just could never get into the Anthrax music I heard with him (not that I have heard it all). He seems like a nice enough guy. I don't hate his voice but it just seems boring to me. The last DVD they made with him didn't impress me much either. It isn't necessarily all him either. Anthrax's music changed in general when he joined and I just wasn't into the direction they were going.
I do like the song "room for one more" though!
Dan nelson is da man! I've been a fan of his since his days in UNBROKEN. Remember them? He IS the Unbroken Throat, after all! I've stayed in touch with him over the past few years and am proud to call him a friend of mine! Can't wait to see Dan and the boys on tour this year! I know the new CD's gonna kick ass, too!

The lates live materials show me a better Dan nelson than last year youtube material. it smells like dan got another step to develop his personal skills and i think he got step by step the deeper feelings of a view classic anthrax songs.

I will certainly give him a chance...John Bush is my favorite metal singer ever - so he's got big shoes to fill for sure...but I will give him a chance absolutely. I liked what I heard, overall, of the new stuff that they did live...and I think he sounds awesome on the Joey era stuff - maybe better than John on some of it, because the top end of his voice is a bit smoother, where-as John is a lot gritter and raspier (which I love)...maybe suits the Joey era material better. I still don't really dig hearing anyone but John Bush sing his own material though. But oh well!

Well people should care! I just saw them on Saturday, and holy fuck, Dan Nelson is the real deal. I've seen the band with Bush, Belladonna, and now Dan, and let me tell you, I think a lot of you will be surprised. He can do both John Bush, and Joey Belladonna's vocals flawlessly. He can hit all of the notes Joey couldn't on the reunion tour.
I can't wait for worship music to come out, the band's version of New Noise is beyond great. Fight Em Till You Can't has grown on me, the version they did back in Chicago has nothing on how they're playing that song right now. They are a very cohesive unit right now.

I was so disapointed when John joined the band, my opinion he didnt fit and it ruined Armored Saint
Refused to buy or listen to any Anthrax albums
knew the reunion wasnt going to work out...
Now i go away for a few years and come back and Anthrax has a new singer... My first thought is..... Pffft, wtf is this guy? I watched the videos in this thread and I have to say I am really impressed. This guy can sing pretty damn good. Kudos to anthrax \m/
