I tried d/l some Dan Swano stuff off morpheus but could not find any. what do they sound like???????????

You could try Audiogalaxy.

Here are some vague descriptions for you:

Edge of Sanity and Bloodbath: death metal
Dan Swano (Moontower album): progressive rock/metal with (mostly) death vocals
Nightingale: progressive rock
Odyssey: power metal
Pan-thy-monium: whacked out and experimental
Diabolical Masquerade: black metal

There's lots more than that, but there's a start for you. I hate categorizing things in genres and I'm not good at it, but I'm too lazy to be properly descriptive.

Anyway, you should really try to get your hands on some of the material. As you can tell from our posts here, there are no normal fans, just Swanömaniacs.
