[Life Sucks]

Im not too keen on their latest effort Hate Them, i think in a way its a bit too...punk-esque. It doesnt create the atmopshere and grimness of the earlier efforts.

I totally agree. I really noticed that, and on one of the songs I was thinking "this sounds more like punk than metal." I forget the name of the song, but it is slower paced and the main riff is written in a major scale as opposed to minor.

I wouldn't even really call post-Nightside Emperor black metal. It's hardly any more black metal than Dimmu Borgir are.

Agreed again. Nightside is the only full-length black metal album Emperor released.

The only Emperor albums i got are Nightside and Anthems i haven't listened to anything after Anthems

the first black metal abum of Darkthrone (A Blaze in the Northern Sky) was very influenced by "The Return" of Bathory.

For me "The Return" is the first album (1985) of this kind of raw BM.
