im not sure if this deserves its own thread but has anyone noticed how similar the footage of walmart stampeders is to the original Dawn of the Dead? its uncanny. the best are the pre-opening shots of people behind the glass and, in some cases, those awesome mall-store cages.

this, folks, is what america is about. not freedom of speech, moral values, land of opportunity, blah blah blah. its about putting the worlds shittiest consumer goods on your credit card and fighting off old ladies to get to the crap first.

WalMart undoubtedly cracked the $1 billion mark on Friday for the 500th year in a row. Normally I don't say "Fools!" in a really condescending way while watching TV, but it's definitely warranted for things like this.

haven't seen the walmart stampede footage..

but yes, consumerism is a main theme of dawn of the dead, which is why it fits so well

oh man, just google it. the pics are priceless. find the one with the lady putting her wig back on *before* she attempts to get up and away from the trampling crowd.

some of these people actually look like the zombies in Dawn because it's the first time in a month they've been outside, away from the cable TV.
