Great, great album...but alas overrated. All the pieces are in their right places, but it lacks a certain depth or atmosphere. It doesn't conjure any particular imagery or emotions.

I've been listening to this almost daily for a LONG time... it isn't the most epic or atmospheric album ever, but I really enjoy it. The musicianship is unrivaled, I guess it's just a pretty furious and excellent album.

Completely disagree JK - I love both the album and atmosphere and I'm not quite sure what you mean by "overrated"? I've never seen the album discussed anywhere but here. Anyway, it's a dark, progressive, accessible and well executed journey. Loving it more with each and every listen.

Yeah, I like the album a lot but it's not exactly "Pale Folklore" or "Transilvanian Hunger" or "Maiastru Sfetnic" etc. It leaves me hanging, kinda like I just went through 12 rounds of 'textbook' compositions.

Fair enough. I've never seen it discussed anywhere but here though.
Btw, it's one of the nicest digipacks...but there's no slot for the booklet? What's up with that? It just sits inside and depends on gravity (or lackthereof) to stay put.

One for team JK. Actually the album is excellent, no doubt, but is it 10/10 buy or die? No. That's all I was saying because I had the impression most people thought it was. Like.
And "Storm of the Lights Bane" is better, but "Somberlain" is not.
