I think the snare is definitely a controversial choice, but I quite like it. I'll listen more, but I like that it has a different character to it.

I'm having problems getting the EQ right. I know you have to mix alot to get a feel for the eq but if you could give any tips on what frequencies you boosted/cut in that mix it would be highly appreciated!

Frequency wise try and get everything sounding good going in, and use EQ too fix stuff and maybe shape a little if its needed. I'd recommend to get it sounding as good as possible going in and use EQ and compression only if its needed.

I normally like the guitars a litle more heavy, but that's just me and your mix still remains super!!!

Any chance you could post a small portion of the kick track?
I like the sound and really woul like to see where you started from

I didn't track this song - just mixed. Don't know how obvious it is (but no-one has mentioned it yet), but the drums are programmed into DFHS so I guess thats my starting point on this.

could you elaborate on what you did to get that sound on guitars with your gearbox, like what settings? that is a sound i have been looking for but could never find...if so thanks man
