I think lots of you know it, but until today it wasn't complete.

I'm not sure they are the only ones who achieved this, but anyway, if you have bought the original DM and want the DIY remastered version, you can grab it know. I don't know how it sounds, I'm still downloading it.

I won't give a link, but "moderus3" is your friend.

It's still shite music. There's just a bunch of neverending songs with the same riffs over and over again put together.

I’m certainly sympathetic to your reaction, I get to slam my head against that brick wall every day. In this case the mixes were already brick walled before they arrived at my place. Suffice it to say I would never be pushed to overdrive things as far as they are here. Believe me I’m not proud to be associated with this one, and we can only hope that some good will come from this in some form of backlash against volume above all else.

Dunno if it helps to remaster the CD, or does remaster implies a remix as well??

Much like their entire career?

I wouldn't say so. I've noticed that even though I respect their earlier work, I never listen to it anymore. But it's a cold fact that without finding Metallica as a kid, I'm not even sure if I'd be into metal these days.

I'm the same,

Never listen to them any more but i appreciate the fact that they were a gateway to metal for me and a lot of my friends.

You better get the flameshield ready dude:lol:

I used to love and worship Metallica, Ride The Lightning and the Black Album were my best albums for ages, but after that disgusting piece of shit St Anger, my opinions of them went right down... I still like them but because of fucking St Anger I don't listen to them no where near as much as I used to.

THey had some great stuff in the day.

They were the band, for their time and place...

But the metal world has passed them by. There are sooooooo many bands that just bury anything Metallica has done since 1991 or will do in the future.

I listen to the Black album and prior stuff from time to time. Maybe 2-3x a year. I'd rather listen to more relevant bands. Bnads who haven't smeared their image, and soiled their musical integrity the way Metallica have.

end of the day they're famous and making a heap of cash doing what they love (and your not) - in my books thats an epic win regardless of what you feel is a good song or riff... why?

i would gladly play country-jazz-pop if i knew it would make me a heap of cash fast. then i can simply take that money and fame and play my metal. in fact thats what im doing at the moment, i make more money from my lighter work then i do from metal simply because there is more of a demand from generic pop music (especially in ireland due to our low population). i hate the dam crap but it pays so fuck it, when / if i hit the top with pop music ill simply rake in the cash and then play my metal. end of the day fuck whatever you say about passion and soul - music is a business if you take it seriously enough (as well as a passion) and in business you do what you need to do and what pays. thats what i learned in 10 years of doing what i do and in 2 years studying the shit in college
