I find myself getting bored a lot of a time when death metal bands go further than like 3:30 point because they end up just repeating shit and it gets real redundant. I mean if songs are progressive it doesn't matter (for example the 40 minute song Crimson doesn't bore me at all) but most long songs are merely repetition...

A good example of what I'm talking about is Capharnaum.

Fallen Christ - Abduction Ritual
Death metal with a grind mentality in that they tend to move it along before the two minute mark.

Probably you just need to work on your attention span.
 
Fear Factory - Soul of a new machine

A lot of short, fast, industrial death metal songs. It has grind running through it a bit but I would not call it anything like Napalm death by a long shot.
