OH, some OTHER insane things happened that day!
I went home, and I took a shower to try and calm down (insert porn riff).
I was getting dressed in my room, and I heard some shouting coming from outside.
I live upstairs, right behind the backyard of some crazy people, so this didn't seem unusual. The shouting was then followed by the sound of breaking glass (I assumed they were breaking beer bottles), a chainsaw, and the smell of burning plastic.
I looked outside, and my neighbor's house was engulfed in smoke...it was even coming through the shingles of the roof!
The whole inside had burned, and there were tons of fire fighters trying to put it out. Everyone and their mother were filming from their backyards.
I have some footage from downstairs buddies...It's insane. There was literally a nine foot arm of fire reaching for the neighboring house (it burned part of the roof). He also filmed them chainsawing a hole through the roof..and before they could finish, all of the windows blew out.
There were about 9 fire trucks, 4 ambulances and tons of cops.
I actually ran into the girl that lived there, and she was on the phone trying to locate her mom. She wasn't able to reach her, and I was hoping she wasn't in the house...
Ironically, while I was showering, I was reminding myself to return these 2 smoke detectors - There's a free smoke alarm program at the fire department, and I figured I needed the $10 back
