I know nothing about this often talked about genre and would liek to hear some.

What are say the top 5 must have bands and their album I should consider looking at?

Big metal cheers,

If you want to listen to deathcore...

Whitechapel ~ The Somatic Defilement is the only mandatory album I can think of. Job For a Cowboy ~ Doom started it all... probably worth listening to if you're interested in the genre.

There's other okay deathcore... but really... none of it is mandatory.

Why the fuck does Despised Icon have 2 singers? All the one does is pig squeal, and its not like that's difficult to do. Both vocalists suck hard imo tho. Good musicians, cool song titles, crappy music.

you just really just listen to crustgrind, goregrind, and soft core. The chunky process will diSEMBOWEL your rectum, so keep it lowcore but make sure you have an extra set of wipescore as the aforementioned.....CHUNKY....takes places.

How could I have forgot Rose Funeral?

Sledge Hammer Face Lift has one of the coolest breakdowns I've ever heard.

Doom is a great album.
If you like Deathcore and haven't heard it yet, go do that now. One of the best Deathcore albums in existence, imo.

Genesis, though is pretty average. There are a few good tracks, but the lead singer just went completely one dimensional after being really diverse on Doom, and the riffs are just really linear and uninteresting.

Genesis isnt deathcore at all, imo.

Doom is worth checking out.

Checked out Animosity ~ Animal a couple days ago. It kicked my ass. Was very surprised...
