Deathspell omega for the win

Deathspell Omega is clearly an exemple of what Black-Metal has still to offer. Giant steps between SMRC and Kénôse . Both are totally essentials to me , and I definitely can't wait for the next album

My copy of SMR,C arrived today on CD, this is currently battling with Drudkh - Autumn Aurora as my favorite black metal album ever.

Check Lunar Aurora - Zyklus and you have a good podium mate

I traded my Kenose LP to Décadent (by the way man, did that show up yet?) 'cause I never listened to it. Never REALLY got into SMR,C to the level everyone else did, but i should still buy it and give it a proper shot sometime.

Call me crazy, but I was listening to Belenos's "L'ancien Temps" tonight and got a vibe very similar to current DSO material. Both SMRC and L'ancien Temps give me an eerie, almost frightening sensation when listening to the albums.

Deathspell Omega... either you find them groundbreaking or boring, but if someone tells me they're mediocre, I know there's no point discussing further. I can't wait to know where they're headed with the next album.

And it's also kinda cool to see the first wave of allegedly DsO-influenced bands bursting forth, like Hexenkreis, Drastus, Glorior Belli, all very good.

Yeah, just because Ev Vind is crazy in that instance doesn't mean you shouldn't check out DSO. Then again, I doubt it'll be something you'll like.

But seriously... I'll take a guess (probably useless) and say that you won't like DSO- but who knows?
