Ok, I've got the Gold Badge, and the pre show tix (thanks eaeolian). Now normally I'd wait on the plane but with fuel prices what they are, it maybe astronomical by summer...

any thoughts on where airfare is going. I've also looked at taking the train down... 88 bux one way from VA. But it's 13.5 hours and it's add an extra day to the trip....plus I have no clue where the Atlanta train station is in relation to PP.

In my Opinion i would go ahead and book the flight now, but stay away from Delta. If you can get Air Tran use them. With fuel prices going up a $200 roundtrip ticket today will probably be close to $300 by Sept.

I think it's actually quite near Earthlink.

It's very close, a couple of blocks max from both Earthlink and Residence. There's a big "island" in between Peachtree (Residence Inn), the street Earthlink and Best Western are on, 14th and 17th streets. The train station is inside that island, along with the arts center. In fact, when you ride the orange line from the airport, don't get out at the "Midtown" station but the "Center for the Arts" station (or something like that).

The Marta station is in that location, but I wouldn't think a long-distance train from Virginia would use that station...

Northwest gave me $266 roundtrip from Houston...I'll check out AirTran though.

Never flown them before, and the striking similarity to "AirTramp" :ill: bothers me. Is it a good airline?

So you guys think gas is going to keep going up, with no chance of it coming back down? I don't know what to think, I haven't read/watched the news lately

Correct. The passenger train (Amtrak) station is located on Peachtree Street, just across the interstate from where EarthLink Live and the usual hotels are.

It's a tough call. We could book our flights now on another carrier and hope to get the "bargain" rate of maybe $250, but we could fly for free with Sky Miles if Delta doesn't go down. Would suck to pay and then find out Delta survived. Have no idea what we're going to do.

Well I redeemed my miles a few weeks ago, so I am at their mercy now :ill:.

I say gas prices are not going down. If you find a great deal I'd definitely book it! Also, if you are coming from CT you should DEFINITELY fly and not drive!!

They will stop me at the airport. I don't think I can get my photo ID face-painted/dressed like a clown.

That's too bad. You'd be stuck at the airport and we'd party with Paula all weekend .... :loco:
