Tools you will need:
A short white noise clip: white.wav
Any good parametric EQ: Electri-Q Posihfopit ED
Any good spectrum analyzer: Voxengo Span

Loop the white noise clip in your DAW.

Bypass your ampsim's preamp and poweramp (if it allows you to do that) or set it to its clean channel and 100% neutral EQ.

Place your parametric EQ after the ampsim.

Pan the unaffected signal 100% left and the ampsimmed signal 100% right.

Put the analyzer on the master channel and set it to show you both left and right channels.

Match volumes.

Match the ampsim signal spectrum as close to the white noise as possible (don't bother with extreme highs and lows).

Save a preset in your EQ.

My try with Simulanalog JCM900:

Works nice enough with Revalver mk2 cab sim.

Great infomation! Thank you. :kickass: One question. In all the amp sims I use you have the option to turn the cabinet simulations off or mute them. Is it common for some to leave this feature out?

Edit: haha sorry. looks like I missed the boat on the simulanalog amp sim thread.

I'm a little lost on how and why you would do this in revalver mkII

Your using impulses anyway and you get to chose them...Maybe I'm missing the point or I'm just an idiot but someone help me here:Smug:

I think you'll find he meant he used ReValver to use the impulses, instead of Pristine Space, or whatever, once he'd decabinetized the jcm900 amp sim.

Thanks, just tried... it's the first demo version, the new one probably is not released yet... and it probably will not be free

Actually that one has been widely claimed as vaporware already. It has been in development forever now, and the author has several times promised that "it will be released in a few days."

Also I didn't find Xmastube to be that good at all, so my hopes for the hyped, mind-blowing, oh-so-high-gain amp sim have descented to the mud. But hey, we've got Revalver MKII! :)
