So here's the deal - I finally secured a space to record in. It's not a very big room (19' L x 15' W x 12' H), but the acoustics in it are pretty bad.

I recently aquired a Peavey 6505+ w/ Rectifier Oversized 4x12 for around $1200 - and now I'm at the crossroad. Am I insane to think of selling the amp rig to treat the room, or should I put off treatment until I can pay out of pocket without sacraficing the amp.

I'm not playing in any band right now, nor any real plans - the amp rig was more or less to have an onsite rig for those who come in with less than desirable gear. I think I just need some advise to push me in the right direction. I'm pretty certain the treatment will pay off more - but feel weird about getting rid of teh brootal metalz rig

room treatment is important, but i'd say keep the rig

fiberglass panels and mineral wool aren't that expensive...put the amp to use to make a few bucks, and then take care of the room from there
