I was playing around with the little intro to Demon of the Fall in an audio prog and noticed that by playing it backwards and at a higher speed you can hear a regular drum beat and guitar line... it almost sounds like a clip from a punk song or something.
Also, is Mikael saying "Noooo, you ****ing bitch!" when you listen to it normally?

I'm sorry if this has been answered before...

I could never tell if that was him or some other band or just his voice over some other band's music. But it's two separate clips, one in each ear. I don't know if it's ever been answered just what it is.

This thread piqued my interest so I went ahead and extracted the intro from the cd, reversed it, and then separated the left and right channel to individual .mp3 files.

The right channel is just some snare hits with something that sounds like slowed bass guitar in the background. The left channel sounds like it is just the beginning of some death metal song. Like Hondo, I can not tell if it is Mikael or not. It sounds like it could be slowed down from a faster original recording. I dunno. Maybe someone can recognize it. Anyway, here are links to the files:

It could just be two other parts off of MAYH with the guitars stripped that are hard to identify out of context.

That's pretty interesting...you guys have too much time on your hands.

The drums from demon_intro_right_channel.mp3 sound a lot like Morbid Angel. Opeth did open for Morbid Angel in the past so that could possibly be it. I'm not sure.

The faster one sounded pretty cool...nothing like Opeth. :D
