No-nonsense, straight-forward, brutal death metal from start to finish. That's what Depraved deliver with their latest release. Beginning with a frantic riff, a sampled scream and then a stentorian bellow from the seemingly hell-spawned vocal chords of the vocalist, Depraved blast straight into a blistering rendition of 'Strangulation With Human Leather', and things don't get much more pleasant from then onwards.

Depraved manage to throw enough variation into the songs to keep them interesting however - like the break in the middle of 'Mass Killer' for a little bass melody, then a mid-tempo, head-banging paced riff, or the multitude of little 'wait for it...' pauses before another round of blastbeats and decapitating riffs is unleashed throughout the album.

Extremely reminiscent of mid-career Cannibal Corpse with a touch of Deicide thrown into the mix, and with enough technical ability and sheer pace to keep those metal heads a-banging, Depraved aren't particularly original, but they are entertainingly dedicated to making a seriously brutal racket. Not outstanding, but worth checking out.
