Depths of Depravity - Into The Decay

This Hungarian band was originally formed in 96. They took the name of Depths of Depravity in 2000 after a line up change. Withe the new line-up they started to work on their first album. that got recorded in August 2000 in only 5 days and the result is the eight songs on Into The Decay.
Fans of extreme music might already recognize the name of the band. Depths of Depravity chose their name after a Suffocation song. Now you can easily guess what kind of music they are playing. Intensive, brutal death metal with furious, pounding drums and thick riffs, together forming a massive wall of music punching you out. This music may become monotonous and predictable after a few songs resulting in a boring record but fortunately the vivid pulsation of Into The Decay saves the listeners from this. Of course on a certain level every massive music is boring but the well placed rhythm changes break this rule in this case as well.
Already the opener, that is also the title track, is a very strong piece of their work and they keep the intensity till the last moments of the album. Except the last song, the instrumental 'Of Heart'.
They managed to make a strong debut, putting the standards high for themselves.
