I read about Destroyer 666 and Aeternus being hailed all over
in these threads so i was thinking about checking them out.
I tend to like really fast and heavy songs so
what albums should i get?
(i don't like albums where its just fast all the time though,
it just bores me, some variation will be nice)
thanks for any suggestions

Destroyer 666 - Unchain the Wolves

Has a variety of fast and mid-paced tracks, and also varies between black and thrashier styles.

Aeternus - Beyond the Wandering Moon

Mixes melodic black with doom metal. There's complex melodies burried within the mix that give a rewarding listen for those who pay attention.

Yep, those two are your best bets. Also get:

Aeternus - ...And So the Night Became
Aeternus - Dark Sorcery

How does "Dark Sorcery" compare to the rest of the Aeternus discography?

"Shadows of Old" is a good Aeternus album while also being quite speedy, their slower first two offerings are certainly the best though. I reviewed their first three as Sacraphobic as metal-archives.com if you'd like a more detailed description.

Destroyer 666 are generally considered to have a consistant discography, but I only like a few tracks.

Dark Sorcery is similar to the first two full lengths, except shorter of course. It's not as refined and tight as those two, but it's still better than post-ASTNB Aeternus. It has a few long songs, and of course an instrumental.

It ws recently re-issued in digi form with a few bonus tracks. www.martyrmusicgroup.com has it for $8 I believe. bought DS and BTWM from them, and both were signed by Ares.
