Detuned Tom processing

Im making a new drum kit and eq'ing everything and what not, and when i get to the detuned toms I'm not exactly sure what kind of compression i should use...i heard someone mention parallel compression on them but should i keep the drum tracks clean of compression and then buss them to a heavily compressed drum buss??? or should i slightly compress the track and then buss or what? also, after eq and comp, what other plugins would you have in the indiv. drum chain before sending it to the buss? if someone could just give me some of their opinions id much appreciate it. thanks yall!

for joey's toms, i typically clip them a bit, then send them to the parallel compression bus. that's all. no eq or compression on them

IMO, they really don't need much or any compression at all.
