Does anyone know of a DI that sounds well for recording guitars and has a cab sim for live shows? I was looking at the Palmer DI 09 for live rigs, but am not sure if it also used for recording guitars like the countryman DI as well. My interface has a Hi z input but from what I hear it is also neccessary to have a DI box in front of it. Any input?

The Palmer DI boxes take the output of a head, simulate the cabinet sound, and provide a line level XLR output to the board or your interface. "Normal" DI boxes like the Countryman just take the hi-z signal straight out of your guitar to your interface for reamping or using amp sim software. They're two different kinds of DI boxes.

The Palmer PDI-09 sounds similar to the PDI-03, the difference is the PDI-03 has a load box, so you don't have to have a real speaker cab hooked up when you're using it.
