Different sound using same impulse with different loaders.

yea, i've been using LeCab this whole time too, just demoed Sir2 and LeCab just sounded thin and extra fizzy compared to Sir2. god damn. guitars instantly sound way cooler now

I've told lot of times that SIR2 is practically one of the better sounding IR softs out there. This test confirms it. My ears were listening good.

I guess judging by this table, Pristine Space is the best one to use for precision?

Yes, on this test material, but SIR2 is not far behind. On some systems PS has troubles with Zero Latency mode, in that case minimal buffer (64 samples in plugin settings) can be used instead (so far buffer in plugin is less than interface buffer, you will have zero latency), SIR2 does not have any problems with Zero Latency. Usually problem can arise when interface buffer is not power of two (maybe because FFT requires such buffers). But PS have better impulse resampling, which is very useful if impulse samplerate is not equal to audio (for example 44.1 project rate with 96k impulse).

Wow.

I've been using LeCab all this time because 'it's what people recommend' it seems, and the features and blending different impulses blah blah blah. Just tried ReaVerb and compared it with the same impulse... I swear it sounds more 'solid'. Instantly converted.

I really didn't think there'd be a difference.

..... and now I'm using SIR as it sounds better again.

This is a good thread. :kickass:

I'm getting quite a noticeable audio difference when using impulses with different loaders.

My main one I use is KeFir but I've been trying to use Lecab2 in order to blend multiples. The problem is when I loaded my first impulse into Lecab2 right away I could tell something was up as the tone was noticeably thinner and much fizzier than when I use the same impulse in KeFir which is very thick and solid.

I can't see any 'mix' or 'wet' knobs in Lecab2 so I'm stumped as to what is up.

Any ideas anyone?

Same here. I tried same impulse collection in kefir, because it mostly sounded thin and fizzy in lecab.
Big difference.

The sound was much fuller with kefir.
