I had to move my rig the other day to do some recording. When I came back and set everything up I noticed I have no audio from my macbook into my 002 now (basic listening- Itunes, youtube etc.).

I normally run an RCA cable from my headphone out on the macbook into the "alt src" in on the 002 and it works perfectly fine. I went into PT and sent that input to in 7-8 and i can hear it in pro tools so I would assume the input isn't bad being its just a push of a button and not a physical cable swap or anything. I could be wrong though.

I also swapped the RCA cable with 3 other ones and it does this same thing with each cable. When no cable is connected to the macbook the audio plays through the laptop speakers with no problem. I have my system settings set to the default output, also tried setting that to the 002, also messed with my digi core audio. After every change I restarted the computer and still no dice. Wtf is going on with this thing?

Yeah thats why its confusing the hell out of me that it will work when using it in pt with the "alt src to in 7-8" button pushed. But it wont work any other way. I even just unplugged it from my mac and hooked up my ipod and still no audio unless its through the ins 7-8

Yes, as i said im getting audio out of pro tools perfectly fine. Its literally only the alternative source button situation when im not gettin my audio. Mons are hooked up right, I even re connected the rca's just incase i went into the wrong spot before posting this. Everything was double checked and still the same problem.

Yeah just wanted to make sure because if the monitors were hooked into the main outs you'd still be getting audio from Pro Tools but not when you routed the Alt Source to the monitor outs. Well I'm out of ideas!

Yeah I had actually done that back when I first bought the 002. So anytime I reconnect it now thats actually the first thing I check is that I put the mons into the right spot. This is a real weird problem. I really hope it isn't the interface dying on me or something.
