Digidesign Eleven

Great for everything but guitars.......the default setting DC Modern or something like that is good for a metal guitar sound with the sm7 offaxis i think...or maybe it was on axis...i forget.

I've used the free version of it that comes with PT M-powered 8, and I thought it seemed to respond well to varying pick attacks, and it felt more like playing a real amp than Revalver did, but I couldn't get a metal tone with it, being that the only models that come with it are the DC Modern and DC Vintage. it seemed to be lacking in the low end. So I was just curious as to if the other amp models were any better. I've tried the Revalver demo, and I was pretty happy with that, I have not tried Pod Farm yet though.
Sneaps got a pretty good tone out of this, very 5150 esque.
Where have you heard Sneap's tone using this? Do you have any sound clips?

Nah I dont, but he sent me 2 clips 1 was Eleven was 5150, they were very close!

While Andy was working on Megadeth he mentioned that he tried sending the Eleven 5150 preamp signal out through an actual 5150 power amp section, then into a cab with a mic...so I think that's what you're talking about. I don't think he's used it seriously for anything but it was just more of a fun experiment. I'd like to hear the clips though if they exist somewhere.

I use it with impulses all the time. The input level makes a big difference in getting a metal tone.

Setting levels:
strum hard and raise preamp level until orange LED (on Eleven) comes on
Choose an amp
Adjust input level (in Eleven) to get a hotter signal before the pre-amp stage.
set a tone
Check your output level and adjust so you aren't clipping the output.
Insert TL Space and your favorite impulse
Insert an EQ, there's usually 1 or 2 notches in the high-mids that will make it sound more natural.
