Digidesign Eleven

I thought they released RTAS already?

Or, at least, they announced they had a RTAS version at the NAMM earlier this year.

I use it with impulses all the time. The input level makes a big difference in getting a metal tone.

Setting levels:
strum hard and raise preamp level until orange LED (on Eleven) comes on
Choose an amp
Adjust input level (in Eleven) to get a hotter signal before the pre-amp stage.
set a tone
Check your output level and adjust so you aren't clipping the output.
Insert TL Space and your favorite impulse
Insert an EQ, there's usually 1 or 2 notches in the high-mids that will make it sound more natural.

I'd like to give this a shot, but I don't have TL Space. Do you know of any free plug-ins available for OSX that I can load impulses in?

Peavey has a free RTAS upgrade you can download from their website.

That's good to know. I don't have the money for the toolkit at the moment, but I've been wanting it mainly for the multitrack version of Beat Detective, and the extra tracks could be possibly helpful in the future.
