My question is how are the old frequencies getting used in conjunction with the new ones. Why do they need more? Also it is irritating that the avg taxpayer is footing the bill for the transition. If someone wants to watch 10 shitty channels without buying a new tv they should still have to at least fork out the money for the box themselves.

The old ones are going to be used by wireless communications services (Verizon, for example) and emergency personnel

I guess apparently we never ordered our coupon so we had to order another one. Lame!

Much of the problem stemmed from people ordering two coupons when they only needed/used one. The unused funds return to the system upon expiration, which is 90 days, I believe. So some of the people waiting will get the coupons without any additional gov't funding. Also, I'm sure the gov't imagined many more people would be buying new sets, but that number is less than expected due to the economy

I wish they'd just go through with the changeover. There was more than ample time and warning to get converter boxes or new TVs. There's going to be a set of people who won't adjust until after the fact regardless of the date of the change.
