The POD is nice for direct recording (I use it so I'm going to say that) but I've heard from a lot of POD users that it just doesn't sound that good when used in a live setting. I don't really know about that for sure cuz I've never tried it thru an amp. I'd probably have to get an amp first.

nothing can beat a real tube amp for live sound with nothing between a quality guitar and the head. simulators are only really worthwhile in the studio IMO.

i started out with a digitech rp-1, just like josh!

but now i like analog stompboxes- they seem to alter the tone a bit less, and sound more natural.
