You all do realize that any disparaging email he gets, no matter how well-written, will be viewed in his own arrogant mind as further proof that he's correct, right? Especially given that the barrage of "you fuckin dirtbag" emails will far outstrip the politer ones.

It isn't worth emailing people like this, because their heads are stuffed so far up their asses that anything anyone has to say will simply add to his sense of self-righteousness - certainly won't make him feel bad, or recant.

I agree. I've met people like Grim in person. It's scary the amount of hate that his ilk can spew forth, usually in the name of all that is good.

The sad thing is that this is actually completely true, of course the email won't make any difference. Such glorious specimens of the ultra-rightwing elitists as Mr Grim are incapable of admitting that they're wrong, their very definition disallows them from changing their mind. However, in spite of all this there's no way I was going to let a challenge like that go unanswered, so I suppose it was really for my benefit as much as anyone else's. I had a huge respect for Dime, and still do now even though I stopped listening to Pantera a while ago. Dimebag has what Grim and his like secretly wish they had; the ability to inspire people. How many people can name Dimebad Darrel as one of the reasons they picked up a guitar? I can gurantee that it's a lot more than Grim has ever convinced to do anything. I bet the guy's favorite pastime for his lunch hour is to go out with his fellow Nazi's and shoot gay people. I really don't understand the rightwing mindset at all. The article wasn't even funny, I don't know if it was meant to be sattiric or what, but even Maddox isn't that bad. At least he's funny. Oh well, no point going on about this. By the way, I do think I should add that not all people who would call themselves conservatives are at all the way this guy is. I consider myself conservative--but I have nothing but contempt for what he said. I think the only term he deserves is NUTJOB (and some other things I'd probably get thrown off the SymX board for saying!).

Also for me, it was for self-satisfaction than trying to prove any points to that guy. He doesnt deserve to have us defending ourselves. But Dime deserves a public outcry to the disrespect shown, as does everyone else that the article was targeted at.

Unfortunately, while the e-mail I sent went through to Grim (don't think this guy deserves the "Mr." I gave him in my letter!), the one I wrote to his editors bounced. What address did you use?

i emailed him directly, and i got a response the next day. just seemed really cool about it. my girlfriend also emailed him, but hers was much more profanity-filled...so i don't think they felt they needed to grant her a response
