Dimmu......Any good?

yeah
you have similarities between the 2 bands
- Black metal with symphonic elements
- Spawned in the same era
- both band became quite popular (according to extreme metal standards) in the same era
but MUSICWISE, the thing that matters the most finally, they are very different
Hell, I LOVE Dimmu and I dont care about Cradle, appart from a couple of tunes from DUSK and the tune CTHULUH DAWN

I wish I could agree with you man, problem is, I discovered Dimmu really on the late, like a nOOB
I heard albums like P-E-M et D-C-A before For al tid and Stormblast original
So since Im obssessed with prod quality, I cant help myself but to think that these albums sound like SHIT.
I wish I would have discovered Dimmu at their beginning.
Yanno until recently I wasnt a fan of Black metal at all (recently as in 5 years or so)
I heard albums like P-E-M et D-C-A before For al tid and Stormblast original

Production isnt a problem for me at all... Von - Satanic Blood Angel and Bathory's first two albums are some of my favorite black metal albums...
Even at that, given the time frame those albums were released, their production value is pretty good... (if a bit quiet... but with symphonic/melodic black metal, I tend to listen to them at lower volume levels and pay closer attention to what's going on than, say, a death metal album)

yes well I assume if I would have heard them when released I would have thought that prod was ok, but it didnt happen this way unfortunately
