Wow! Guitar sound on Dimmu's re-recorded Stormblåst may be the best metal guitar sound I've ever heard. Does anyone know which gear they used on this one?

I love the sound they have gone for with Stormblåst 2005, but I don't think it would fit their heavier material. This an atmospheric album for sure, and it's beautiful!

The album is trash. They made a horrible mistake by remaking this album. There are songs/parts that are completely gone, the atmosphere isn't the same as the original which is part of what made it so great.

Funny thing is, I was arguing with some of my friends not too long ago about how if they had better production on the original at the time it would have been *that* much more amazing. Their point was that whatever the environment sparked in them at the time is what made the album come out like it did, yet I was only saying that if the studio were exactly the same, just better gear, the album would still be like it is, but sound much better.

So when this came out my friend Ryan couldn't help but call me and say "you got your wish, and it sounds horrible. just like I said." He still misses the point. But regardless, I am really disappointed about how they have taken things out that made the original what it was. Yeah the production is much better, but..I dunno.

Any comments from anyone who was in love with the original?

No but I'm sure Kelly Gray agrees with you.

i agree man, i couldnt believe it when i first put it on and realised they've got rid of the keyboard intro, reading that interview i understand why they did it now, but still, i love the original, cant get into the remake at all.
