Back in the mid/late 90s, Norway's FORLORN was a stellar viking/black/folk band; unleashing epic and vast pieces of typical Norse metal onto the masses.

"The Crystal Palace" is a perfect display of FORLORN's unique sense of beautiful and epic songwriting. Mid-paced, with a great sense of melody and brilliant use of keys, this deserves to be considered a milestone in the Norwegian metal underground.

Sadly, they turned into a pretty dull Dimmu Borgir/Tidfall clone around 2000, but the masterpieces that are "Forlorn" (1996) and "The Crystal Palace" (1998) are not to be missed or forgotten by fans of the genre.

Fans of the epicness of Falkenbach, Enslaved, Dimmu's "Stormblåst" and even Graveland, take note!

yeah I have the first song of this album on mp3 when Erik posted a compilation of cheesy BM with lots of synth. It was actually one of the best songs. Not bad stuff, it definately has an old Dimmu Borgir vibe.
