DI's CLIPPING? BLACKJACK ATX

hey guys,

i just tracked an EP with an amp and took a DI with a behringer ultra-di (haha).
anyways, the DI's are really clippy, which was super annoying, but even going straight into the instrument input of my firestudio gives the same results??

Guitar is a schecter atx blackjack with active blackouts. i don't get it. i tried both instrument inputs, using a DI box, and running straight into a mic input, all yield the same result. it's not unbearable but i dont get it? nothing is clipping at any point in the chain, so whats happening?

Lower your pickups.

worked a charm! thanks heaps. they are super low now in order to get rid of it!

A common issue with active pickups, and the main reason why people buy them, fit them, and then dislike them.

thats part of the tone characteristic.. the actual pup/internal pre clipping, which is why it's a smooth saturated tone going into the amp, my DI's are chopping when im really agressively hitting the strings.
