diy bass trap question

I'm building some bass traps with owens corning 703. would i be better off making 6 2inch traps or 3 4inch traps. I also have some r-30 laying around, could that be of any use? thanks

If your first reflection points are already covered then I'd say 3 4 inch traps would be better.

If not, make 2 4 inch traps and 2 2inch traps for the first refelction points.

Yes, it depends on the room and treatment you have. If it's possible invest in more traps, it's well worth it.
