DIY triggers experience?¿

Have you tried them? What´s the difference between, e.g., these:

and DDrum triggers? Is there a significant difference despite the money?

I want to use them live with my roland v-drums module in small places where gear and sound usually sucks, so I got a better and cleaner signal. Mostly in kick and toms. For snare maybe an external one....

I bought the components to make some before the summer and still haven taken the time to do it, must do that soon!
From what I read they're more prone to double triggering and missed hits than the proper ones but for the money I'd expect that!

I made some homemade trigger using piezzos from radio shack, and then i wired them to a 1/4" jack and ran them into a DM5. It worked, but they are incredibly sensitive, and it's hard to get it dialed in the interface...
