do these effects sound like shit?

doing a mix for this band trying to perceive the distant vocals and gated drums in the beginning but im not sure how well i perceived this and if it sounds bad. any feedback would be great! also if you want to give feedback on the the mix go for it!

Vocals sound good, but a bit overcompressed, and it sounds completely mono. Get those vocals as wide as the drums and you'll be set! I dig this track a lot. I also dig your drums, sounds like Slate and real OHs, maybe?

love the atomsphere in the beginning!

i'd just cut some more lows on the vocals and turn them up a tad.
also the snare has some weird highs, i'd also change that!

the drums are slate kick 10 with some eqing, snare 12a mixed with snare 11a and major eqing, toms are from superior drummer and yes real OHs.

you mean weird highs on the snare throughout the whole song or just at the beginning?

it's after that atmosphere-intro thingy in the whole song.. could be just me though

love the begining ,sounds pretty prefect to me .. what verb did you use? .. and it sounds like there is a doubler on the vocals or they are downpitched on another track that is makeing them muddy and hard to decipher ...or maybe its just an eq thing .but i would look at that.. and it sounds like the mix could use some more low end aswell... other than that its pretty good imo...
