Tool sells a lot of albums, but I don't dismiss them. I like music that challenges me and strives for something new and enlightening. Smashing Pumpkins was good. It's obvious to me that you are still interested in simple minded music that has been done before. All the classic rock you mentioned was good and innovative at the time, but do you consider Silverchair on that level? I hope not. Let's get things straight: Silverchair, Puddle of Mud, Alien Ant Farm, etc. are all babies of the grunge and nu-metal innovaters. Alice in Chains, Korn, and Nirvana were all smart enough to not follow the footsteps of Motley Crue, Metallica, and Megadeth. That is why we will remember a band like Alice in chains in 20 years and not Puddle of Mud. By the way, I know what your response will be . . .
