Do you guys make other tunes than metal ?

Myself, I play/record mainly instrumental music/progressive metal, but I have also recorded and mixed some local bands including Rock, Christian and Gospel, yet I'm atheist. Makes for an interesting dynamic.

That was awesome! Your score fitted very well to the whole feel of the animation too. It took it all to a higher level for me, without being "in the way".

Thank you sir! :) That was my purpose, glad you like it.

It is really interesting to make music for a video, in fact, i wish i can do it more often from now on.

Well being a house engineer at a local studio, I record 90% non-metal. I record and mix anything from audio books, to country/ gospel, reggae and indie rock. But when I seek out bands to produce on my own they're usually metal.

Wrote the base for 2/3 tunes of something in between progressive house and analogue electronic music. Quite fun and really not so difficult. I like how I can just start recording something and skip any process of pre-prof/writing/learning how to play it. Just start you DAW, record/write midi lines with the synth, find the best sound for it, or do the other way around. Then fiddle around it, until it sounds dense and rich enough. Then you can mix it. Actually very fun !

Did this 2 years ago just for fun

I am frequent listener of electronic music, ambient stuff, chill out, trance, sometimes post rock also. I am thinking doing some electronic shit in the future but now I need more experience and to listen more and more this kind of music.

Metal/Hardcore is my main shit, but i love to do punk-rock and rock also, even pop punk.

I'm also venturing into folk/pop/light-rock these days (since i started playing the acoustic guitar actually).

And i wanna venture into rap instrumentals and vocals also.

I wish i had time to do all of those.

When i was young (teenager), i used to write indus metal and electronic music on my Dad's Boss DR-5 and have a blast doing it.

EDIT : right now i'm fantasizing about doing a hardcore/metal cover of "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson.

When i will be older i'd love to do movie scores or something like that (orchestral music and such).

I sing classically, but I'm starting to get into world music and jazz. I've always sang folksy type stuff, like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and some songs from the Grateful Dead. I would like to start an online band, metal covers with classical voice, sort of. Please don't laugh at me, but I really want to do a heavier cover of Korn's "Freak On A Leash" with classical vocals.

Here's some stuff I did goofing around sitting on the ground of a train station (not good for getting height in the voice!) At some point I'll post more operatic stuff. This is also the bottom of my range (I'm a soprano)

http://vocaroo.com/i/s0tmsXdF8io3 (Scat, Dream A Little Dream)
http://vocaroo.com/i/s0mYLg0V3Qci (Intro, The National, Lit Up)

http://vocaroo.com/i/s0JnTvSLBwag (Oh, Shenandoah, more classical)
http://vocaroo.com/i/s0K9r4FWBvW9 (Better, slower take)

The diction with "Oh, Shenandoah" needs some help, but in time I'll work on it ;)

my main one man band project, callitwhateveryouwant is about pop/rock orientated stuff with clean (rather bad than good) singing.

i also write/record small lo-fi pieces influenced by classical, world, folk, experimental music.

here's a little sample if interested...
