Give us a bit more info, like how you've recorded it, what amp you're using, guitar, etc.

I think the tone is decent like, maybe a bit too much gain.

Well I used not too much gain, it does sound not too gainy I think.
Pointed the mic where the cone meets the dustcap 1cm away.
Played the amp loud!

I think it's quite scratchy though, that's usually the gain when I'm messing with tone, have you got any effects on the amp? Like extra distortion or something

I really like that tone! It has that angry, growly crunch I really dig.

I think it's quite good overall and definitely usable. There's a slight amount of muffled scratchiness that I would try to EQ out though with a very tiny Q setting...kind of in the 1k range. I don't know how important it will really be in a finished mix, though. I want to hear it with a bass in there too!
