Does anybody else hate everything they produce?

Tends to depend. I can usually tell when something has lived up to its full potential or not. Most often, due to shoddy tracking techniques it never gets a chance, and as a result I always hear the end product as a compromise, which leads to quiet rage.

I don't really produce anything. I just record bands.
But I love every band that I record. Even if the mix isn't stellar, I love their songs and listen to them on a daily basis.

In all honesty i wouldn't say i had a fixed sound in mind. Haha :) therefore I am fucked. I always find referencing guitars in a mix a bit of an aural illusion because they are made in context with the other components.

QUIET RAGE! That's the perfect explanation, haha. Actually even thinking about hearing my older mixes gives me terrible anxiety. It takes a whule before I can really listen without cringing, no matter how badass I thought it sounded in the moment or how good it really does sound.

Not really , I actually quite dig the stuff I produce , but yeah a month or so later you always find that something is wrong with it... that's not a bad thing ! Just means you are constantly learning and getting better. If you mixes sounded WORSE over time and the old stuff sounded better , then I would be concerned...

i get sick of everything i do very very fast. esp my own stuff. i guess thats just the nature of things. if wed all LOVE what we do, we'd pretty much not develope into any direction.
