Didn't know if anyone knew any of the production side of that last cd they released.

Surely someone here is friends with the guy that did their stuff.

So just any info you would happen to know at all about this would be helpful.

"bulb" did that album... (the guitarist)

his name is misha mansoor

ask him yourself

he is really down-to-earth... i'm sure he will give you some insight as to how everything was produced.

a friend of mine said that misha worked with an engineer named matt murphy... ?

i don't know if that helps (???)

Matt Murphy

He recorded and produced the vocals. Misha did the rest. Also the drums were recorded with a e-kit, I wonder how much he edited those midis though?

Am I looking right at the pricetag of those c800g's? 8900 dollars on sweetwater!? That's crazy, and yet the S's are so overbearing on the periphery album...

Is this the same guy working with Tosin Abasi in Animals as Leaders?

if you mean misha from periphery as "same guy" then yes.

misha and tosin work together a lot... apparently.

i don't think mark had anything to do with the aal records although the production is very similar to a lot of his work.

anybody have any idea about the exact tone on the album?(settings? guitars? anything!) its soo different than the demos and soooo much better ive never heard a guitar tone quite like it

other than axefx ...this:

I'm pretty sure Casey Sabol produced the vocals..??That's what casey told me at least.

Really? IMO it's a huge let down for the album. There most sterile ugly tone I've heard.
That's just me of course. Checkout meshuggah- chaosphere. I'd be curious to hear what you think of that tone :)

im not a hugh meshuggah fan but i love periphery i dont really see the connection between the two like yeah blub did some covers and some of his songs that arent on the album sound more meshuggah influenced but the only thing about the album i hear influenced by meshuggah is like the low tuning, and some grooves but i dont know like i said i dont really listen to meshuggah that much. like ive listened to all of there albums and theres some really good songs/ cool stuff i respect them etc. anyways the guitar tone its different from what i usually hear it sounds like.. there is so little distortion i can make out everything note thats being played completely and theres a tone of mids in it unlike the meshuggah guitar tone.

just my thoughts though :p
