Does anyone know why the pod cuts out when changing patches?

BOSS GT8 also does this a tiny bit but the ME50 is much more noticeable, it's common for processors, there are better ones with less of this, please everyone explain your observations, this has bugged me too!

I don´t know WHY, but I´m 99% sure that if you change the patches through one of Line6´s footboards (FBV) it won´t have this delay.

You still have a delay, but not more then on a real amp.

If you are changing patches using MIDI messages (be that from a MIDI controller or a computer) then the delay is directly related to how far away said patches are from each other. MIDI controlled units cycle through all the numbers between the current and desired location, thus the delay is increased.

Example: Say changing from patch 1 to patch 2 gave a 0.5ms delay time, then the delay time experienced moving from patch 1 to patch 12 would be 6ms.

Yep, I have a Line 6 FBV Express (which just has the 4 preset buttons and the expression pedal, which is all I'll ever need) that I use with my Podxt, and it's pretty much seamless
